There are two exits provided for Nadiad (50 km (31 mi) from Vadodara) and Anand (35 km (22 mi) from Vadodara). It is a part of the Golden Quadrilateral Project by NHAI. Two-wheeler vehicles are forbidden on the road due to safety concerns. It was one of the major highlights of India Shining campaign by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition-governmentled by Atal Bihari Vajpayee
