This book consists of a compilation of the papers presented at the Asian International Conference on Advanced Materials (AICAM 2005), which was held in Beijing, China, from November 3rd to 5th, 2005.
The aim of this collection is to bring together state-of-the-art developments related to all aspects of the processing and properties of advanced materials. The papers highlight the fundamental and applied research efforts being made in the fields of ceramics, hybrid materials, composite materials, processing technology, nanotechnology and so forth.
Of the 264 papers presented at the conference, 187 peer-reviewed papers were chosen for this book as representing the ‘crème de la crème’ and, as such, should be read by anyone working in materials science and engineering.
