Some major challenges to greenhouse production and profitability are insects and diseases. The effectiveness of the pesticide spray on crops is greatly influenced by the application equipment and method. Therefore an air sleeve boom which can be operated by 5 hp electrical motor was designed and developed for effective pesticide application in greenhouse. The performance of the developed air sleeve boom was evaluated at different air velocity and pump discharge levels to determine effects on spray deposition (i.e. droplet size, droplet density and uniformity coefficient).
