Cemal Cingi is a Professor in the Otorhinolaryngology Department at Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Medical Faculty, Eskisehir, Turkey. He graduated from the School of Medicine, Istanbul University, in 1984 and then entered the Otorhinolaryngology Residency Programme at Anadolu University, Eskisehir, becoming a Specialist in ORL and HNS in 1990. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in 1995 and as a Professor in 2001. In 2013, he became an accredited Specialist in Mouth, Face, and Chin Surgery. Dr. Cingi served as the Chair of the ENT Section of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and President of the Asian Facial Plastic Surgery Society (AFPSS). He is an editorial board member for several other journals. Arzu Yorganciölu served as President of the Turkish Thoracic Society between 2014 and 2016. She is the current Chair of the GINA (Global Initiative for Asthma) Board of Directors. She is the coordinatorof the Reference Site European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging (EIP on AHA) in Turkey and a member of UN Environment MCTOC. She is the past Chair of the WHO GARD (Global Alliance against Respiratory Diseases) and past Chair of the Advocacy Council Chair of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Executive Committee. She is a fellow of ERS and ATS. Nuray Bayar Muluk has been a Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Kirikkale University Faculty of Medicine in K¿r¿kkale, Turkey, since 2008. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1990 and completed her ENT residency at the same university in 1994. Her interests include basic research, cancer, neuroscience, rhinology, and allergy. Her publication record includes 320 international and 74 national papers. Additionally, she is an author or co-editor of 9 international books, 6 national books, and 2 translated books. Furthermore, she serves as one of the guest editors ofsupplements in an SCI-Expanded Journal 4-times. Dr. Bayar Muluk has contributed significantly to various book chapters, authoring 105 international chapters, 49 national book chapters, and 11 translated book chapters. She has more than 2500 citations in journals indexed in Web of Science. She holds several key positions at K¿r¿kkale University. Dr. Bayar Muluk is appointed as Advisor to the Rector, where she is responsible for Research and Development. Moreover, she is a Vice President and Board Member of K¿r¿kkale University's Cancer Research and Application Center. Additionally, she serves as the Director of Quality Management at Kirikkale University Medical Faculty Hospital. Alvaro A. Cruz graduated in Medicine and completed residency at FMUFBA. Subsequently, he did a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University (USA) in Pulmonary Medicine and Allergy. In 2003, he developed ProAR, an intervention project for the control of severe asthma, that markedly reduced admissions due to asthma in Salvador (3 million inhabitants). From 2006 to 2008, Prof. Cruz worked at WHO in Geneva, taking responsibility for the leadership of the Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD), for which he has served as a member of the governing bodies in the last 14 years. From 2009, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA). He has been a consultant for the Ministries of Health Education and the National Research Council of Brazil. In the last 15 years, he received various awards, including a special grant for the development of a center of excellence for asthma and an award from the World xviii About the Editors Allergy Organization for global achievements. Prof. Cruz has published 302 peer-reviewed papers, was one of the associate editors of Jornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia for 10 years, and is currently an Associate Editor of the Asthma Research and Practice.
