This book explains the factors that have led to alcohol abuse among the household heads and its contemporary socio-economic effects on family life. The harsh economic conditions have contributed to alcohol abuse and socio-cultural changes have played a role whereby the traditional and religious regulations that used to guard the misuse of alcohol have broken down. The author find out that marriage stability and emotional well-being of the children have been adversely affected and fifty seven percent of the spouses complained about their husbands drinking habits.
