The book "Alcohol Dependence, Psychological variables in alcoholic abstinent and relapsed people" represents a collection of details regarding various Psychological variables in alcoholic abstinent and relapsed. This research was carried out in various de-addiction centers at Hyderabad, during the period of 2009 and 2010. The book includes seven chapters with references; it explains various Psychological variables in alcoholic abstinent and relapsed in detail and its effects on substance use patients. It was pre- post comparative experimental design with control group. Thus it showed statistically significant positive correlation found between social support on self efficacy and significant negative correlation found between social support and stressful life events. It provided further evidence in support of the importance of certain clinical and psycho-social factors in relapse in substance dependence.

Anish Mathew - holds an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology, M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from Sweekaar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences. He is working as Clinical Psychologist and Head of the Department at Sacred Heart Hospital, Kerala for the last ten years.
