Despite facing the challenges of terminal cancer, Carl is committed to creating meaningful stories for children, inspired by his own family's heritage. His first book, Alfie and the Zhuang, was written to share the rich culture and traditions of the Zhuang people with his son, and he hopes to write more books that celebrate family, culture, and love.
