Joël Callède es un apasionado del cómic desde la infancia. Ha escrito varias series, entre ellas Enchaînés (Vents Ouest, 2004), Haute Sécurité (Dupuis, 2007) y L'Appel des origines (Vents d'Ouest, 2011). Como guionista, ha producido Mitterrand Requiem (Le Lombard, 2016).
