The aliens are introduced as highly intelligent beings who possess unique qualities and characteristics. Along with enlarged craniums, they are known to have two hearts, consume food generally in a raw state and are typically stronger than humans. For the aliens, the ingestion of sour milk yields the symptoms of intoxication, not unlike alcohol for humans.
