Inaugurated in Beijing on January 3, 2019, the Chinese Academy of History (CAH), affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, is the first state-level institution of historical research in the People's Republic of China. Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated on its establishment in a letter. With 6 institutes, namely, the Institute of Archaeology, the Institute of Ancient History, the Institute of Modern History, the Institute of World History, the Institute of Chinese Borderland Studies, and the Institute of Historical Theories, the CAH has established a full-fledged system of historical research. The Academy is committed to constructing an interdisciplinary hub for historical sciences, integrating resources to implement major research projects, and guiding historical research across China. The CAH also aims to build an international platform for academic dialogues, and work with all partners to promote world peace, stability, development and prosperity by providing historical insights and wisdom.
