She was born and raised in a small farming community in Saskatchewan, SJ moved to the Vancouver mainland, and later settled on Vancouver Island, where she currently lives. Her profound love of the simplicity of her prairie homeland is expressed in her writing, along with her awe of the beauty of the West Coast of British Columbia.
