Marvina Sims has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in creative writing. She is also a certified Librarian. After retiring early from the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board, she was able to delve more passionately into writing. She even did some acting in live stage performances, movies and web series. Marvina is a certified Domestic Violence Advocate and an intervention specialist in the Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP). After volunteering for a crisis call center for battered women, Marvina wanted to do more to help empower women and many others who are less fortunate and in need. Thus in 2013, Marvina began an organization called Women Empower Women in Need (WEWIN).
