For Electronic Warfare (EW) applications, dual-polarized multi octave band phased array antennas are required. Specifically for shared aperture Ultra-Wide band systems, phased arrays are eminently suited. For such systems, scanning to ±45 degrees both in azimuth and elevation is an essential acquirement. Phased arrays using BOR antenna as element radiator have been designed and built, yielding an active VSWR of less than 2.0 over 5-20 GHz in infinite array simulations. Active VSWR and scanning properties of BOR element phased arrays in simulations have not been reported in literature.
