Autorenporträt

William Hart McNichols was a member of the Society of Jesus from 1968 to 2002. He was ordained in 1979. Apart from his theological studies, received a Master of Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. From 1983-1990 he worked in AIDS hospice ministry in Manhattan. In 1990 he moved to Albuquerque, NY to study the technique and spirituality of icon painting with Robert Lentz. He continues to live in Albuquerque as a priest of the Archdiocese. His icons have appeared in four Orbis titles, as well as in Image to Insight: The Art of William hart McNichols with commentary by John Dadosky (Univ of NM Press, 2018).
