Hello friends and kitchen lovers, my name is Yuri E'mahn Brown, and I am the creator of Modish25, and the author of Love Is the Main Ingredient, You're Baking Me Crazy, Vegan Goodness, and our newest cookbook All the Yums 2! I started cooking at the age of 16 and have cooked, and created different meals for over 10+ years for my family and friends. I was born in the city of New Iberia; Louisiana and I always had a passion for tasting different Louisiana dishes during the holidays and seasons. As a child, I watched my grandmother, Clara Franklin, my grandfather, Frederick Lopez, my stepdad, Lloyd Willis, and my mother, Lizzie Willis cooking different dishes such as: smoked barbecue, Louisiana crawfish fettuccine, classic baked chicken, Cajun chicken and sausage gumbo, red beans and rice, Pecan candy, Pound cakes, and much more! They taught me everything that I needed to know in the kitchen, and I thank you all for your help in my food journey. The most important ingredient that I learned to have was love. In January of 2013, I attended Nicholls State University, and studied Business Administration with a concentration of Pre-law. As a college student, I always aspired to be a lawyer or to own my business, but I never thought about doing anything in the food industry. In 2017, I graduated from Nicholls State University in Business Administration, and started to pursue a journey in the law field. I took the LSAT and was accepted into the Southern University Law Center. In August of 2017, I started law school at Southern University Law Center, and that was the best decision of my entire life. In law school, I learned to quickly adapt to foster new relationships, expand my social skills, build charisma, and learn how to build interpersonal skills needed to establish strong work ethic skills. In October of 2020, I created my first cookbook "Love Is the Main Ingredient" which focused on creating different breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. At that time, I created that book to inspire those to cook meals within an efficient time, and who were students or working individuals. In February of 2021, I created "You're Baking Me Crazy," which focused on creating easy, simple baking meals at home. Two months later, I created my first Vegan cookbook, Vegan Goodness, which depicted diverse Vegan smoothies such as: Bahama Mama Smoothie, and Baja Blast. Additionally, Vegan Goodness was the start of changing my health and it provides different Vegan low-calorie meals in minutes. These cookbooks have begun to help me add different recipes and share them to anyone who aspires to increase or take their cooking experiences up a notch! Currently, I am in my last semester of law school, and I graduate in May of 2022. I created an active food YouTube channel called "Modish25." Check us out for weekly videos and recipes.
