She sees the Big Bang as a more awesome creation than the story of Adam and Eve. She advocates governments providing free education for birth control in clinics to both men and women. With this plan far fewer unwanted children would be conceived. Therefore few abortions would be required and separate medical clinics would provide counseling and adoptive services as abortion would be a last resort.

Loving science, Mary Young has in an amateur way a background in it. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Science and has acquired knowledge through her interest in physics and cosmology. The physics professor in college was a Methodist and reconciled faith in God with natural laws. He was a mentor to her and other young students. He has made a significant impact on her life. She also earned a Masters Degrees, in teaching learners who need special assistance in acquiring basic skills. Being a speech and language specialist, she taught hard of hearing, and visually-impaired children. Her other Master's degree in counseling enabled her to counsel adults and children facing emotional issues and learning difficulties.
