Written by Erika for her 2021 book Eat Like a Local: Austin -- Erika is a traveler, writer, musician, and visual artist. Born in Austin in '96, she moved to Louisiana at the age of 11, then back to Austin for the full-blown UT Austin college experience. She's resided on and off the last 6 years there working as an artist. Erika enjoys birdwatchin', hitchhikin', electric scooterin' uphill wearing a man's leather jacket with pockets full of beers, and skydiving. She enjoys the literature of Joyce. She's a newfound bible enthusiast and Erik Andre Show lover, an unlikely combo. She likes to stretch the sinews of the 'known' world. Having retired briefly from a year-long series of exploits around the US, she writes to keep the dream alive.
