James Smith visited the Gettysburg National Military Park for the first time, when he was thirteen years old. Since then, another thirteen years have passed and he has provided information for numerous newspaper articles and internet blogs. Smith spends much of his free time studying the conduct of the battle and the participants in it. He also conducts several battlefield walks per year and telling the stories of the men who fought in the Civil War.
