The herbals have occupied a distinct place in the life right from the primitive period till date and in recent time there has been a marked shift towards herbal cures because of pronounced cumulative and irreversible reactions of modern drugs. Utilization of plants for medicinal purposes in India has been documented long back in ancient literature because they are essential to human survival.
