This work describes the bioenergetic and molecular analysis of transgenic potato plants with altered expression of 33kDa Manganese Stabilizing Protein (MSP). Chapter 1 describes the development of potato plants with over expressed and downregulated expression of MSP and their comparison in terms of growth, yield and photosynthetic efficiency by employing OJIP transient kinetics analysis. Chapter 2 describes the influence of downregulated MSP on potato plants under various abiotic stress conditions.
