The literature in the field of alternative communication discusses the need to include the family in the process of evaluating, implementing and monitoring alternative communication systems. Including the family members of users who use this system in decision-making throughout the adaptation process, as well as adequately training them as interlocutors, should be part of the professional team's actions. Thus, we have systematized guidelines for family members through the potential and problems of these families of users of the Alternative Communication system who have participated for approximately five years in the Workshop Program of the Laboratory of Alternative Communication Technologies of a Public University. We invite you to enter the context of the Cerebral Palsy family.
