Clement was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Mentor (an eastside suburb of Cleveland). In 1980, he joined the U.S. Army and became airborne, Ranger, pathfinder, and jungle expert. With the Berlin Brigade, Clement became fluent in German. Cleveland State University. 1990 Creative Writing Scholarship award. Then an executive compensation administrator. Clement moved to Florida in 2004 and became a community association manager. Clement is married to Lynn.
