Elizabeth (Beth) Harbison stammt aus der Nähe von Washington, D.C. Sie studierte Kunstgeschichte, Literatur- und Theaterwissenschaften in London und Washington. Dann arbeitete sie als Koch in der amerikanischen Hauptstadt und veröffentlichte drei Sachbücher zu diesem Thema. Seit ihrer Kindheit schreibt sie Geschichten und ist als Autorin mehrerer romantischer Komödien erfolgreich.
Sie lebt mit ihrem Mann und ihrer Tochter in Washington, D.C.
