It's hard to be a teenager - especially when you're dead. Josie Reynolds' sweet sixteen was unforgettable, but not in the way that she imagined. The night of her birthday, a fire breaks out in her home and the last thing she remembers is the smoke filling her lungs and the cries of her younger brother and sisters for help. Unable to save them and too badly burned in the fire to leave her room, Josie is constantly haunted by her guilt, watching from the window as life goes on without her. It is only after her mother's death that she discovers the terrible truth that has been hidden from her: Josie didn't survive the fire and she has been a ghost for nearly sixty years. Now, her mentor, Calvin, must help Josie find a way to move on from the worst night of her life before she is stuck in this world forever.

Autorenporträt
Adria Waters is a paranormal enthusiast who has been seeing ghosts all her life. Her greatest moment was doing an overnight investigation at an abandoned prison with the cast of Ghost Hunters from SyFy. When she's not hunting ghosts, she loves torturing her family with road trips across the country to see everything from Mount Rushmore to Disneyworld and every sightseeing opportunity in between. A huge Harry Potter fan, she spent days in Universal Studios wandering the streets of Hogsmeade with Butterbeer in hand, muttering spells under her breath and believing, if only for a moment, that the wand she held might actually turn someone into a frog. Adria lives in Missouri with her very patient husband, her not so patient son, two cats who insist that they are human, and various little spirits that pop up to say "hello" once in a while.
