Camecia Clark is a licensed professional counselor from Houston, TX. Growing up, she saw the effects of mental illness in her family, so she began the journey to become a mental health advocate. She obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Texas Southern University and an M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Camecia has always had a passion for helping others, and she hopes to help parents, teachers, and community leaders to have necessary conversations with children about their mental health. She hopes that "Am I Next" will bring awareness to the Black community that has been conditioned to ignore the signs of mental health and trauma and inspire us all to end the stigma of mental illness. When she is not advocating for mental health and writing books, Camecia enjoys spending time with her children, Caylon and Braylon Mike. She specializes in teaching children and teens to express their feelings to their parents, develop healthy coping skills, and to seek help when needed.
