Together with her husband, Wally, she served in the mountains of Haiti as a missionary in education and self help development from 1972-2002. During her 30 years of service in Haiti, Betty developed the first rural preschool program which has expanded into hundreds of schools across the nation, following the model she established.In addition to Am I Scottish?, Betty is the author of Robbie the Royal Messenger, Isobel's New World, The Man Who Saved The King, Abigail And The Royal Thread, and the award-winning children's book, A Sergeant in the House.
