B.B. Alston vive en Carolina del Sur, Estados Unidos, y empezó a escribir en el instituto para entretener a sus compañeros de clase. Acababan de aceptarlo en un programa de posgrado en Biomedicina cuando una obra que había presentado por casualidad a un concurso se convirtió en el inicio de su carrera como novelista y en el origen de Amari y los hermanos de la noche.
