Autorenporträt
Pamela Heck is a writer, artist, and special education teacher living in Sonoma County, California. Although she writes in many genres, her thirty-plus years as an educator inspire her to write primarily for children. After teaching eight-grade English for two years, Pamela earned several special education credentials. Today, she is an early education specialist teaching young children with autism and other developmental disabilities. At age ten, Pamela began her formal art training at the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art. She describes herself as "a lifetime student of art." Her work has appeared in galleries throughout the Bay Area and at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance Gallery where she is a resident artist. Pamela is also an award-winning writer of memoir and short stories, and a featured Author of Merit in the 2020 poetry anthology, And Yet. Pamela's stories and illustrations have been entertaining her students for years. Now, she broadens her horizons with Amazing Animals, Fun Facts for Kids, a testament to her belief that learning can be exciting and enjoyable.
