During his 40-year military and professional career, the author traveled to 13 countries, where he chronicled people, cultures, and experiences. A native of Richmond, Virginia, he attended the University of Illinois, and has lived in New York and Connecticut. He currently resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and has three grown sons.
