Amazing Day is a Hip Hop event that from 2006 to 2020 has collected work of artists practicing in different genres from all over the world. In this volume I have collected some of the writing from 14 past events, selecting materials among thousands of images taken by almost 30 photographers. First I wanted to talk about how I approached Hip Hop and how I began to want to organize moments of encounter, because it was so important for me and for this culture in general. A story made of images and words that see some of the contemporary protagonists of the scene evolve. My visionary desire to transform a small town like Locate di triulzi into a living museum, full of colours, in the sunlight. In fourteen editions, Amazing Day has become the longest lasting and most consistent Hip Hop event in Italy, as well as one of the most important and respected "jams" of our country, maintaining over time a high artistic and cultural level, a true Italian reference point in the European scene. Its importance does not lie in the success of a single edition, but in its continuity, which shows an evolution, and in its perception, able to create new identity and forment new interest in the community at large. Amazing Day was a wonderful adventure for me, to which I dedicated most of my energy, leaving aside some of my personal projects as an artist. With this book I leave a trace of what I have done and, even if I don't know what this future holds, I try to live the present 100%, as always.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Andrea Sergio was born in Brindisi in 1978 and began his artistic career in Hip Hop culture when he was only 12 years old. In 1990 he is already known as Mr.Wany for his characters on the walls of the city. He is considered one of the pioneers of European Hip Hop culture. He obtained his diploma at the Liceo Artistico Edgardo Simone in Brindisi and later specialized at the International School of Comics in Rome with top marks. In 2000 he moved to Bologna where he worked for 6 years as Art Director of Dynit, one of the most important publishing houses of Japanese manga and anime, types of comics that fascinated him since he was a child and that also influenced his artistic personality, increasing his interest in the exotic. In 2007 he signed a contract with an important gallery and moved to Milan. After this experience he opened his atelier: The Amazing Art, also in Milan, where he now works full-time. Mr.Wany is a versatile and multifaceted artist, with a great experience in the field of visual art and colour combinations; he ranges from site-specific projects to live performances, from art exhibitions to design for many brands and for the fashion world. His style today is a fertile combination of illustration, comics, surrealist pop painting, style writing, graffiti, tattoo, urban art and new muralism.
