Bringing history to life. The personal experiences of a Korean War Veteran - stories nearly 70 years in the making. This collection of my military adventures comes from stories I kept hidden at the back of my mind until my second wife started asking questions about my time in Korea. Once I told one story, another came, as the floodgates finally opened. We never realized the historical value until recently, but now that most who fought in that war are gone, opportunities like this to see behind the lines as we call it have become scarce. Some of what I deal with in this book: - what a soldier's day was really like - the nature of a tank and how its 5-member crew functioned - being in action at night, 2 hours on and 2 off, dealing with shrieking noise - living in a trench and in a hole in the ground, only getting a shower and clean underwear a couple of times a month - having to face life and death constantly, dealing with grief and PTSD This book does not focus on the political side of the Korean War but more on my memories and feelings, and how I felt the presence of God in some of the heaviest encounters. I may be bragging a bit but this could be quite a read for you!
