Brandon Smith is a gullible freshman from Philadelphia who, in his pursuit of popularity and success, will follow anyone anywhere. Benjamin Bishop is an arrogant, womanizing, nosy campus newspaper editor with an old beef to settle. Falu Davis is a beautiful, spoiled, driven president of the student body whom everyman wants. Vicky Mourning, president of her sorority, is a black girl with a chip on her shoulders from weight and acceptance issues. And Greg Harris is a super senior who also doubles as hustler, thug and club promoter. Somehow they are all connected through Howard University. Brandon looks up to both Ben and Greg for different reasons and finds himself caught in the middle of a nasty battle over a story Ben wants to publish about Greg. Falu is in the spotlight for a plethora of reasons, including the fact that her mother is running for a seat on the university's board of trustees. A secret that is about to be unearthed about Falu could kill her chance to get into Harvard Law and her mother's campaign at the same time. It would satisfy all the hatred other Howard girls have carried for her over the years. Ben is the nucleus of everyone's problems. As he tries to rekindle a flame with Vicky, his girlfriend from freshmen year, and help her battle her self-esteem issues, his pursuits might stop him dead in his tracks before he can do that.
