Autorenporträt
Born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, in 1958, Alan grew up in various places in the UK as he travelled around the country due to his father's work. Alan originally studied chemistry and then later computer science. Working in financial services for many years allowed him to travel a lot which, along with his granddaughter Amelia, provided the inspiration to write this book. Knowing his friend Tony's artistic abilities from his youth, Alan decided to enlist his help in illustrating the book with humorous drawings to accompany the narrative.
