The author was the first Native American California Rez woman to graduate from law school. Passing the first half of the Bar in 20 minutes, it is a 3 hour exam, the author then contracted Toxic Shock Syndrome and spent the next eight years learning to walk and talk well enough to hold hot horses for her younger son, who was becoming a horse trainer at the tracks and show barns in S. California.
