A third generation Japanese American, John is grateful for those who fought through the hardships of World War II and made life better for future generations.As the memories of World War II fade with the passage of time, John's hope is that American Grit will serve as a cautionary tale and remembrance so that never again will the forces of fear lead to the mistreatment or incarceration of people solely because of their race. It was to honor those whose suffering and heroism should never be forgotten that John wrote this book; to honor the past by educating the future.
