It is not too exaggerated to say that books of Paradoxical issues are still an exist and popular theme at this present, it is, therefore, the reason of the writer to trace back 19th Century writer, Emily Dickinson. Although her works were written in 1890's, her poems could reflect the social condition of human life especially the portrait of American paradox representation. Through the analysis of her six poems, the readers are able to know the mysteriousness of Dickinson as well as her unique poetic method.

Autor

Reinjaya Sitohang teaches at the University of Darma Agung, Medan Indonesia, he also teaches at some Universities in Medan. He writes Research Articles in Local and International Journals about Language and Literature. He graduated from North Sumatera State University, Medan in the field of English Literature in 1983.
