MARILYN J. CHIAT is Director of the Minnesota chapter of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and an adjunct professor of near eastern and classical studies at the University of Minnesota. Her publications on preservation and religious architecture include A Handbook of Synagogue Architecture.
