David Frank Palmer is a former management consultant who specialized in strategic business planning for most of his professional life. His early career was in the banking industry. He later qualified as a Chartered Accountant and commenced private practice in 1982 specializing in financial auditing and tax accounting.In 1985, he transitioned to the management consulting profession, advising clients on business strategy and marketing strategy. His particular specialty was business planning. That career mostly involved staring at the far horizons trying to anticipate what threats and opportunities were likely to emerge in the decades ahead so as to advise his clients how best to position their organizations to take advantage of the contemporary trends emerging in their markets of interest.He formally retired in June 2003 from whence he embarked upon a career of formal study and private research. He started writing and publishing in 2009. Apart from his writing, which has been described in the afore-mentioned narrative, and which has dominated his life since his formal retirement, he has travelled quite extensively, to over fifty different countries across five continents.He has tutored and lectured part-time at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels at four Western Australian universities in Auditing, Accounting, Financial Management, Marketing, Strategic Management and Management Consulting.He is married with three adult children - triplets - and two grand-children and lives in Rockingham, Western Australia.
