The middle school where Dr. Blackwell primarily taught, comes with its own list of unique circumstances and challenges that he is very familiar with. This memoir begins with a tender retelling of Blackwell's own childhood, and how often he was a middle school menace to his parents and teachers alike! Everything in his life has formed and shaped him into the man he is today, a passionate and dedicated educator with a desire to affect young lives. About the Author Dr. Thomas Blackwell was born in Jackson, Michigan. He is also a Vietnam veteran who served his country. He finished his schooling at Spring Arbor University. He has two Masters of Art degrees from Eastern Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Golden State University. Blackwell has also dedicated much of his time to being a basketball coach, motivational speaker, and has served as a member of various educational committees.
