This book contributes in the poverty literature since it measures the poverty situation by different methodologies under the livelihood approach. It finds the economic conditions and factors influencing different aspects of economic security. For this purpose log of income, logit of food sufficiency and logit of income sufficiency were used as dependent variables. Among the three models built in this study, education of household head and dummy variable of partially commercialized households were significantly (p0.05) explain the variation of economic security. In the multiple regression models, the dummy male headed was further significant (p0.05) in explaining log of income. In the income sufficiency binary logistic regression model, logit of income sufficiency was further determined by age of household head and young is to adult ratio. This study leads to identification of development measures for the poor who lacked in different livelihood assets. It is useful for any practitioner of poverty, specially researchers, policy makers and Academics in the field of development economics.
