A research study completed twenty years ago in 1996 has been analyzed and assessed. The objective of the analysis is to ascertain whether subsequent developments in the economy and the political arena resulted from decisions in which a few or no women participated. Women participation in decision making is a manifestation of a society emulating progressive traditional philosophies and cultural practices, the development of objective and accommodative strategies in the home, education system, church, community, nation and global village, as well as the implementation of gender mainstreamed legislation supported by continuous gender research, discussions and literature, thereby facilitating the attainment of gender equality.
