This qualitative research study examines the life experiences of women workers in Haritha Karma Sena, focusing on a convenient sample of seven participants from the Elappara panchayath in Peerumad Taluk. The study reveals a severe lack of essential services to support the welfare of these dedicated workers, with the burden of medical expenses often falling on the women themselves. Despite these difficulties, many women continue working due to the unwavering support of their family members. However, public perception of their occupation, deemed 'low status' by societal standards, often leads to harassment. Despite this, a positive shift in community attitudes has emerged, with most residents expressing gratitude and support for these women. The findings underscore the importance of improving services and creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for these women, ultimately promoting their well-being and empowerment.
