Spezialisierung auf Pflanzenphysiologie. Arbeitete als Direktor des botanischen Gartens. Jetzt ist er außerordentlicher Professor an der Staatlichen Technischen Universität Kaliningrad. Wissenschaftlicher Interessenbereich - Anpassungsfähigkeit von Pflanzen.
