Initially tasked with researching for a documentary, Lucas is quickly overwhelmed by the brutal conflict between unarmed protesters and an army bent on maintaining a dictator's rule. Surrounded by violence, fear, and poverty, Lucas finds death ever-present, and his quest for solace leads him on a path that will either define the rest of his life or end it.

Autorenporträt
Jeremy Maxwell-Timmins was a producer and reporter at the BBC, covering major stories in the UK, the Americas and beyond. He joined the Board of BBC World Service in 1994 and was responsible for all media across the Americas Region and then Africa and Middle East. On leaving in 2010, he spent a decade working as a consultant with governments and media owners in countries emerging from conflict. Before working in the media, he was a professional drummer, and now plays regularly with jazz and rock bands in Surrey where he lives with his wife and two children. He was educated at Kingswood School, Bath and has an English degree from Oxford University.
