An "enigma" means a mystery. I wrote this book with a spin on real-life zoological books, giving an inanimate object feelings and bringing them to life. Save the rubber duck for a rainy day rather than from extinction. Although they can get lost on their travels, who doesn't love a rubber duck?

I am a nature lover, passionate about trees and their intrinsic beauty. I am passionate about nature and teaching children to respect and love trees. With literature, children can learn and be inspired by such stories. I hope you enjoy the read. It is a simple explanation of mother trees and the forest they communicate with. I was inspired by the activist Julia Butterfly and her tree, Luna. Suzanne Simard discovered that trees talk to one another through their mycelium networks. Furthermore, I like to think there are living Loraxes: people like Julia and Suzanne who protect nature. The Lorax by Dr. Seuss is my favourite story and can be used in many grades to teach about global warming. Dr. Seuss was a visionary and I have the utmost respect for him. I too want to publish books like he did.I am a professional educator who strives to inspire creativity and stewardship in all students. Mother Tree is a story about the beauty of nature. I recently taught at an outdoor educational centre in the woods. Many students have lost touch with nature. It was nice to see kids climbing trees again. I want to instill a love of nature and a need to maintain one's positive outlook through trees in this dark time of environmental destruction. Many scientists mocked Dr. Simard when she suggested trees talk. But then again, scientists mocked Charles Darwin for his theory of evolution. I want to teach students that trees do in fact talk to one another and share, not compete, with each other for sunlight and resources. Nature truly is a fascinating force! Mother Tree is a simple read for many different age groups, from preschool to Grade 3. This creative twist on literature is sure to capture readers' interest. I am a mother, daughter, teacher, zoologist, and a living Lorax! My quote would be this previous sentence. A living Lorax! "I speak for the mother trees."#LivingLorax
