The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot program "Do Your Thing", a motivational education program that was designed in response to the lack of achievement and high drop out rates of high school students. This pilot program was created to help teens achieve more success in high school by helping them make connections between their passions and their school experience and by clarifying realistic and relevant goals for their futures. Data were gathered from surveys and interviews conducted on 9th -grade participants and their parents, and from school records such as grades, attendance and disciplinary reports.
