This book was carried out to evaluate the impact of Social Media on students academics with the objectives; to ascertain whether there is a significant relationship between social media and students' academic. Four research questions and four hypotheses were used to guide this study; the (6,317) full-time and part-time students and the (324), academic staff of Federal Polytechnic, constitutes the population of this study. Multi-stage, stratified and simple random sample techniques were employed to select respondents; sample of 400 respondents were selected using the Taro Yamane (1964) formula. To achieve the main and objectives of this study, survey research (which employs the use of questionnaire) was used. Several literatures were reviewed on social media, A five point Likert type rating scale questionnaires was designed for the study. The descriptive statistic of frequency counts and percentage were used to analysis the demographic data of respondents ,while the chi-square(x2 ) was used in testing the research hypotheses. The study findings showed that social media has significant influence on the academic performance of students.
