This book has been written with passion following an increase of electoral conflicts in Zambia. With the formation of Conflict Management Committees (CMCs) in all the districts in Zambia in 2006 whose mandate is manage electoral conflicts, one would have thought that the phenomenon was going to be managed but the opposite is the case. This showed that CMCs were facing serious challenges to carryout their mandate. Through this study, it was clear that CMCs in Zambia lacked a legal framework in their mandate. this situation rendered them toothless. Furthermore, the vastness of districts, slow pace at which justice was delivered in court, lack of capacity building were also some of the challenges these committees were facing in Lusaka district. this study also proposed suggestions on how electoral conflicts could be managed in Zambia.
