This work examines the emergence of terrorism as a political tool. The world's attention was directed towards al-Qaeda and its 9/11 dastardly attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon and America's one decade of response to it. It highlights how America's significant response to terrorism has helped shape the way the world views and classifies terrorists and their acts. The point of focus therefore were on the events of the 9/11 attacks and the invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq and the bombing of al-Qaeda bases. It is specifically meant to indicate the various wars the U.S and coalition forces waged in the Middle-East, their justifications and successes. This work will provide relevant background cause to the continuous acts of terror witnessed till date despite all efforts at eradication.
