In this in vivo study different methods (digital tactile sensation method, Digital radiographic method, and EAL method that used Root ZX) were evaluated for the accuracy in determining the working length of the root canal. The results revealed that the digital tactile and EAL methods located the constriction as accurately as the actual root canal length obtained by locating and viewing the constriction directly. In today¿s technically advanced age of endodontic practice, though the digital tactile sensation is considered as an obsolete method and there are not many studies done to evaluate its accuracy, our study surprisingly revealed the results of digital tactile method as being more accurate, than even digital radiographic method, when compared to the actual length.
